Minimizer donates youth bikes, helmets for 3rdannual Bike Rodeo

(Blooming Prairie, MN April 2018) – For the third straight year, Minimizeris helping supply kids with the necessary equipment to ride a bike.

“There’s nothing better than seeing all the smiles on kids faces,” Minimizer CEO and Chief Visionary Craig Kruckebergsaid.

Minimizer, along with KIK Marketing, the Blooming Prairie Youth Cluband the Blooming Prairie Police Department, hosted a Bike Rodeo last weekend.  Children of all ages brought their bikes out to Minimizer’s corporate headquarters for some fun and games, and they didn’t leave empty-handed.

“Each kid will receive a brand-new bike helmet, courtesy of Minimizer,” Kruckeberg said.  “They’re really excited.”

“All the officers love children, and we love to be able to help in any way possible.  Our children come first and we want nothing more than to keep them safe,” Blooming Prairie police chief Greg Skillestad said. “It’s great to have Minimizer here to support the kids in our community as well as the BP Police Department.”

Minimizer also donated 12 youth bikes and $3,000 to the BP Police Department to help organize the Bike Rodeo.

“We had 74 bikes registered and 64 kids signed up to win one of the 12 bikes,” Skillestad said. “Minimizer continues to make this possible every year.  Without their support, we wouldn’t be able to make this as great as it is.”

“It was a really great day,” Kruckeberg said.  “Any time you can help this community, especially the kids, you have to do it.”

MINIMIZER RELEASES FLOOR MATS FOR CASCADIA 116 & 126

(Blooming Prairie, MN April 2018) – In an effort to keep up with demand, Minimizer has released Custom Molded Floor Mats that fit the new Freightliner Cascadia 116 and 126.

“Cascadias are among the most popular trucks on the road, and with Freightliner releasing these two new models in 2018, we have our bases covered,” Minimizer CEO and Chief Visionary Craig Kruckeberg said.

The 116 and 126 models feature a different cab interior than their 113 and 125 counterparts, necessitating Floor Mats that fit the newer models.

To see the new Floor Mat kits, visit www.minimizer.com.

“We want every truck on the road to be outfitted with Minimizer Floor Mats,” Kruckeberg said. “That may be a pipe dream, but if we didn’t dream at least a little, we wouldn’t be where we are today.”

New territory managers bring added heavy duty experience to Minimizer

(Blooming Prairie, MN March 2018) – The heavy duty trucking industry is a close-knit group where experience counts.

Thankfully for Minimizer, its two newest Territory Managers have that particular area covered.

“Experience is crucial in this industry,” Minimizer Senior Director of Sales Greg Renberg said. “Often times, it seems like everyone knows everyone, so it can be difficult for outsiders to get comfortable and build relationships.”

Minimizer’s new Mideast Territory Manager Geoffrey (Geoff) Cook brings knowledge of the aftermarket sales process and has experience calling on both the construction and trailer markets.

Geoff’s territory includes Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia.

“Geoff brings valuable experience to our team,” Renberg said. “We expect him to contribute to the continuing success of Minimizer.”

Scott Holm, Minimizer’s new Northwestern Territory Manager, has spent a number of years in the heavy duty trucking market.

Scott’s territory includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Utah.

“Scott is familiar with most of our customers in that area,” Renberg said. “Training and educating dealer personnel and their customers was a major activity in his previous position and will fit very well with our sales and training objectives.”

Both Cook and Holm started at Minimizer in late February. To contact them, visit www.minimizer.com.

MINIMIZER EMPLOYEE EARNS ROCHESTER VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD

(Blooming Prairie, MN March 2018) Julian Currie, Human Resources Business Partner at Minimizer, has been honored with the Rochester, Minn., Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year award.

Currie shares the honor with the 10 other members of the Steering Committee for Leadership Greater Rochester. LGR is a 10-month program that targets and recruits experienced professionals with the goal of developing business and community leaders.

“I completed the program myself in 2015 and have been volunteering with the organization ever since,” Currie said.

The Rochester Chamber surprised the Steering Committee at the annual awards banquet in January.

“It’s humbling and gratifying to share this award with the other members of the Steering Committee,” Currie said. “It’s a program that was very beneficial for me, personally, so serving on the Steering Committee is my own way of giving back.”

“We couldn’t be prouder to have such a fantastic business partner and person here at Minimizer,” Minimizer Chief Visionary Craig Kruckeberg said. “Julian is an incredibly selfless person who deserves this award.”

LGR and the Steering Committee meet every month throughout the 10-month program, with the group’s focus designed to improve Rochester and the surrounding areas.

“During my year in the program, we helped raise funds for the United Way and Rochester Public Library,” Currie said. “The end result expanded the number of mini libraries across Rochester. Our goal was to encourage the area’s youth to read. We ended up with so many books that the surplus will enable the program to continue for the foreseeable future.”

In the future, Currie hopes to lead a class, serving as the group’s guide and mentor as it works its way through the 10-month program.

“This is a family. You build lifelong friendships and bonds not only with your fellow classmates, but with other alumni, as well,” Currie said.

Dick and Craig Kruckeberg named BP Citizens of the Year

(Blooming Prairie, MN December 2017)Minimizer founder Dick Kruckeberg and current Minimizer CEO and Chief Visionary Craig Kruckeberg have both been named Blooming Prairie’s 2017 Citizens of the Year.

“What a fantastic honor,” Craig Kruckeberg said. “My father and I are truly humbled by this award.”

The Blooming Prairie Chamber of Commerce presents the BP Citizen of the Year award annually, with Chamber members submitting names based on community involvement and charity.

“We have a lot of great people in Blooming Prairie who do a lot of wonderful things,” BP Chamber Executive Director Becky Noble said. “(Dick and Craig) have started a wonderful business for which we are all very grateful!”

“We’ve always made it a point to give back to the community,” Craig Kruckeberg said. “My father prioritized charity work, and it’s something very important to me.”

The Kruckebergs are the face of Minimizer, founded by Dick Kruckeberg in 1984. Dick, a former truck driver, started his company with the invention of the poly fender.

Craig purchased the company from his father in 2006, and immediately increased Minimizer’s marketing budget, leading to bigger sales and a bigger brand.

“With our success, we’re very fortunate to be able to give back to our local community,” Craig Kruckeberg said. “The recognition makes me a little uncomfortable, honestly, but folks tell me that if people see one person or one company giving back, maybe others will donate their time or money.”

The recognition banquet honoring Dick and Craig Kruckeberg will be held Thursday, January 18th, at the BP Servicemen’s Club.

Minimizer launches Super Single Fenders line

(Blooming Prairie MN December 2017) – Following years of research and development, Minimizer Super Single Fenders have hit the heavy duty trucking aftermarket.

“This is something we’ve been working on for a long time,” Minimizer CEO and Chief Visionary Craig Kruckeberg said. “We had a lot of requests for fenders designed specifically for wide-base tires and didn’t want to release anything that wasn’t up to our usual Tested & Tortured standard.”

Four Super Single Fender models – 2221, 9021, 4021, and TR4021 – measure 19 1/2 inches wide and are specifically designed for wide-base tires.

“Lots of fleets and owner/operators run wide-base tires,” Kruckeberg said. “This is a large part of the marketplace that we have yet to explore. Our Super Single Fenders will fit those trucks and trailers perfectly.”

All four Super Single Fender models are available in standard Minimizer colors and specialized finishes, with the exception of the 9021, which is not available in green.

“We’re really excited about Super Single Fenders,” Kruckeberg said. “Extending our fender line is the perfect way to close out 2017.”

Louisiana trucker wins Minimizer contest during Truck Driver Appreciation Week

(Blooming Prairie, MN September 2017) – Mike Atwell wasn’t sure what to make of the situation.

“I never win anything,” Atwell said, laughing.

But the owner-operator from Iowa, Louisiana wasn’t dreaming. He really did win Minimizer’s Comfort Package giveaway on the company’s Facebook page.

“I still can’t believe it,” Atwell said.

As part of Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Minimizer gave away a Long Haul Series Seat, Long Haul Series Mattress, and set of Custom Molded Floor Mats, a package valued at over $3,000.

“I just put an $800 seat in my Peterbilt about three months ago, and I just noticed I got some foam falling out the bottom of it, so I’m really excited about the Long Haul Series Seat,” Atwell said.

This isn’t the first time Minimizer has rewarded its customers.

The company held the 30th Anniversary Sweepstakes in 2014, giving away $15,000 to a fleet and $15,000 to an owner-operator.

“Without customers, we don’t have a company,” Minimizer CEO and Chief Visionary Craig Kruckeberg said. “Truck drivers are the backbone of this industry, so we just wanted to do something special for them during Truck Driver Appreciation Week.”

It’s safe to say that the company has made a lifelong fan out of Atwell.

“I will definitely buy Minimizer, for sure,” Atwell said.

Minimizer Fast Flaps named Top 50 New Product

(Blooming Prairie, MN September 2017)Minimizer Fast Flaps continue to build their reputation as an innovative problem-solver by earning the product’s second industry award.

Equipment Today magazine has named Fast Flaps one of its 2017 Contractors’ Top 50 New Products, the construction industry’s only award program based on consumer feedback.

“We are honored, because this award comes from the people that use this product everyday,” Minimizer CEO and Chief Visionary Craig Kruckeberg said. “You can’t get better feedback than that.”

More than a year removed from their launch, Minimizer Fast Flaps continue to sell like hotcakes, with no drop off in sight.

Fast Flaps secure mud flaps without creating any holes in the flap or sacrificing strength. It takes more than 500 pounds of pressure to detach a mud flap from the Fast Flaps stainless steel bar, and the result doesn’t damage the flap. See the product in-action here: www.minimizer.com/product/fast-flap.

“When we came out with Fast Flaps last year, we knew we had a winner,” Kruckeberg said. “The past 18 months have only confirmed what we already knew – this product is an outstanding cost-saving addition for fleets!”

The 2017 Contractors’ Top 50 New Products are compiled based on reader inquiries from Equipment Today magazine as well as user engagement on ForConstructionPros.com.

The first Fast Flaps video on Minimizer’s Facebook page has over a million impressions, and it’s one of the most popular products across their social media.

“Whenever I go to a (heavy duty trucking) show, I get people coming up and asking about Fast Flaps,” Kruckeberg said. “It’s something that people keep hearing about and they want in on it.”

BIOGRAPHIES

CEO Craig Kruckeberg

craig-kruckeberg

Dick Kruckeberg offered his son a job back in 1990. 25 years later, Craig Kruckeberg is the CEO of Minimizer, a family-owned company since its inception.

Craig started in the manufacturing plant before taking over Minimizer’s marketing and inside sales departments. He became President in 2001 and bought the company from his father five years later.

Today, Minimizer is the premier manufacturer of heavy truck plastics. Their products include fenders, floor mats, toolboxes, mud flaps, slick plates and the recently-released Maintenance Line.

Founder Dick Kruckeberg

Fed up with the metal fenders on his semi truck, Dick Kruckeberg decided there had to be a better way.

No more cracking, no more denting, no more wasted money.

After his wife Lorraine backed over the plastic garbage can, Dick found his solution – poly fenders.

Dick Kruckeberg guided Minimizer for 22 years until his retirement in 2006. He still pops in the office from time to time, unless he’s enjoying the winters in Arizona. (We don’t blame him!)
