Blooming Prairie, MN, February, 2013 – The Upsize Business Builder Awards provide an annual contest to recognize entrepreneurs for leading smart, sustainable growth.
Minimizer CEO and Chief Visionary Officer Craig Kruckeberg was one of three finalists selected by the judges. Each of the three finalists presented their stories in a private session in December, after which judges named Craig and Minimizer the Upsize Business Builder of the Year.
After purchasing the Company from his parents in 2005, Craig set Minimizer on an aggressive course for growth. That year, Craig’s father questioned why Craig would spend $400 on a magazine advertisement. Craig’s response was a harbinger; “People don’t wake up in the morning with our phone number in their heads.”
Minimizer’s marketing budget will top $1.6 million in 2013.
Craig describes the company as a marketing machine that also manufactures heavy-duty poly fenders, bracket kits and other truck accessories. “We have to manufacture the product ourselves because we can’t find anyone else that will manufacture to our standards,” said Kruckeberg.
But it wasn’t just all about the day-to-day manufacturing and marketing.
Craig led the assembly of a world-class management team handpicking each executive based on their expertise in distributor channel sales, lean manufacturing, guerrilla tactical marketing, and finance.
“I never could have gotten here… correction, WE never could have gotten here without the solid management team we built that steered theMinimizer ship,” Craig gushed.
Minimizer is on track to post record revenue this year. The companies retooled website, complete with multiple award-winning videos that tout thetoughness of the product, a network of 850 distributors and growing, a strong presence in Canada, an eye for doing business in Australia and Mexico, significant investments in innovative technology and manufacturing equipment all point to a continued upward trend for the Company.
